Torre Egger is a peak in the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, located in the Andes mountains of Argentina. It is one of the most challenging peaks to climb in the region, known for its difficult and technical routes. The peak was first climbed in 1976 by an Italian expedition led by Casimiro Ferrari, making it one of the last major peaks in Patagonia to be ascended.
Torre Egger is a prominent feature in the iconic Cerro Torre group, which also includes Cerro Torre and Punta Herron. The peak stands at approximately 2,850 meters (9,350 feet) above sea level and is characterized by steep granite walls and challenging mixed ice and rock climbing.
Due to its remote location and difficult climbing conditions, Torre Egger is considered a prestigious and sought-after objective for experienced alpinists. Many climbers consider it one of the ultimate challenges in Patagonia, requiring advanced technical skills and endurance to reach its summit.
